Elementary (K5 – 6th Grade) Belief On the elementary level, we do not require the students to know the Lord as Savior. However, this will be our first and foremost objective as the years progress. Academics CCS is on the ABEKA based system for most subjects. Thus, our grades tend to be about one level ahead based on our SAT results. For example, our 5K graduates are required to read so they will be ready for the 1st grade program. By the time students finish the 6th grade, they are well-versed in Math and English. They work with fractions and are introduced to some Geometry. Dress Dress guidelines for the elementary are the same as high school, except the boys are allowed to wear nice shirts without collars. Dresses are required for the girls at all classroom functions. Denim material is allowed. The emphasis for all students is on modesty, neatness, and consistency. High School (7th – 12th Grade) Belief All high school students are requested to give a written testimony of salvation before enrollment. This must be accompanied by a pastor/youth pastor’s recommendation. Regular weekly church attendance is also mandatory. Academics Required courses for high school are the same as those for the Alabama public system. Our SAT scores are checked each year after the test is given to all grades. We consistently score higher than the public schools in the major categories. Students desiring enrollment should be prepared to take Algebra 1 in the 9th grade and followed by Geometry in the 10th grade. Dress Emphasis is again placed on modesty, neatness, and consistency. Girls are required to wear dresses to all classes. Shorts and pants are not allowed. Guys must have collared shirts to all classes. Jean material is acceptable which conforms to the other rules specified in the CCS Handbook. |
